House-Mates PDF Print E-mail

We've got a room to rent at Speedstar Mansions from August 2009.  The house is a large (and we are talking BIG!) Victorian Terraced House.

The house is double glazed, has gas central heating.  Downstairs there is an enormous living-room diner.  There is a large Kitchen/breakfast-room which has a gas cooker, as well as all the appliances you need in a modern household.  At the back of the house is a utility room where you'll find the washing machine, and secure accommodation for bikes.  Additionally there is a WC downstairs.

The large 'family bathroom' is on the first floor.  Comprises of WC, corner bath, sink, and separate shower cubicle (which takes water from the hot water system).

The garden is spacious, private, and importantly secure.  When the sun is out, it's a real pleasure to spend time out there soaking up the rays, enjoying al-fresco meals, washed down with the odd glass of chilled vino!  There's even been the odd bar-b-que from time to time.

Ideally we're looking for more 'mature-minded' house-mates.  We are fairly chilled, relaxed, and certainly know how to enjoy ourselves, but we certainly could not be described as 'all-night party-animals'.

The bedroom that is for rent is situated on the first floor and overlooks the front of the property, it is 5.33m/17'6" (max) x 3.73m/12'3".  The rent is £270pcm and includes Council Tax, water, wireless broadband, Sky+ and TV License.  We're sorry, but the way that gas and electric prices have been recently means that we all have to split the Gas & Electric bills.  However, despite the possibility that rooms may be empty from time to time, I would not expect one person to pay more than 1/3 share of these bills.  Over recent months this has worked out to be about £30 - £40 per month.

Jalland Street is a quiet cul-de-sac located off the bustling Holderness Road, very close to the picturesque Garden Village.  As a result all the shops you could need on a day-to-day basis are at the end of the road.  There are buses every few minutes into the city centre, however if you chose to walk, it would only take about 20 minutes.  Similarly it takes about 15 minutes to cycle to the University.  We are very fortunate with road links, as the A63 dual carriageway is about 5 minutes away by car, and Beverley is also about a 20 minute drive.
