Once happy that the suppliers hadn't left anything out, take the sides off the case, as the first job is to install the Power Supply Unit (PSU). This is very straightforward, as it simply needs to be offered up to the gap at the back of the case. You will see exactly where the connecting screws need to go. The PSU can only be attched one way – and that's the correct way.
Once in place attach the power cable, and plug it into an electric socket. Don't turn the power on yet, but it is important that that the cable is plugged in as this means that the case is now earthed, and any risk of static is now reduced (remember what I said on the last page about static?). Now that the case is earthed it is necessary to ensure that you are also earthed – this is easily achieved by ensuring that you are always in contact with the case. Many suppliers sell anti-static wrist-bands which attach you to the case. This is a great idea, however I simply trusted my ability to remember to earth myself before touching or picking anything up
